Medeama SC Lose Champions League Opener Against TP Mazembe

In the opening match of the CAF Champions League First Preliminary Round, Ghanaian club Medeama SC was defeated 1-0 by TP Mazembe at the TnA Stadium in Tarkwa. Medeama put up a valiant effort, but their hopes were dashed by a late goal scored by substitute Lise Ntumba Nyembo in the 87th minute. TP Mazembe took the lead in the 33rd minute when Chadrack Bingi-Belo headed a free-kick.

Medeama's goalkeeper Felix Kyei made several crucial saves, including one in the 43rd minute to deny Josue Kazema. Despite Emmanuel Annor coming close in the 64th minute, Mazembe's Marc Diouf made another decisive stop to preserve the lead. Medeama had a late chance to equalize, but failed to convert. The Ghanaian champions now face a challenging second leg at TP Mazembe's home ground in Lubumbashi, where they must come from a 1-0 deficit to advance in the tournament.
