Majji quits YSRCP, set to join TDP

Majji Srinivasa Rao, the Chairperson of Vizianagaram Zilla Parishad and YSRCP District President, has resigned from his positions, signaling a potential shift in political allegiance. The decision comes in the aftermath of reported differences with his uncle, Botcha Satyanarayana, a former Minister and Leader of the Opposition in the A.P.

Legislative Council. According to sources, Rao is anticipated to join the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). He tendered his resignation to Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the former Chief Minister and YSRCP President, citing personal reasons. Rao also stepped down from his role as the YSRCP in-charge for the Bhimili assembly constituency. Rao's resignation marks a significant loss for the YSRCP, as he had played a pivotal role in the party's victory during the 2019 local body elections.

The YSRCP had secured all 34 Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituency (ZPTC) seats and over 90% of the Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituency (MPTC) seats in Vizianagaram district.
