Love triangle suspected after bar stabbing leaves two men dead in Kisii

Two men died in a bar stabbing incident at Club Dados Bar in Marani Sub-County, Kisii County, allegedly stemming from a love triangle, according to police. Bonface Amwoma Okeyo was reportedly stabbed inside a toilet at the bar, while the suspected attacker, Dennis Mayaka Asago, died after being attacked by an angry mob who had cornered him inside another toilet.

A 21-year-old female bar employee initially alerted police to the stabbing, stating she had been informed by a female customer known only as "Sister." Okeyo was rushed to Nyangena Hospital but pronounced dead upon arrival, suffering a single stab wound to his left chest. Asago was removed from the toilet and subjected to mob justice before succumbing to his injuries.

Police are investigating the incident, which they suspect may have been triggered by a dispute involving an unidentified woman. The murder weapon has not been recovered, but authorities are currently searching for it. Preliminary reports suggest that murder cases linked to love triangles have been increasing in rural areas, with some still remaining unsolved.
