Kaneshie-Abossey Okai residents demand urgent action as Ghana Water pipe leaks for over 3 months

Residents of Kaneshie-Abossey Okai, located near the Obetsebi Lamptey Roundabout in Accra, are urgently requesting the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) to fix a leaking water pipe that has been continuously leaking for over three months. The persistent leakage is causing significant water waste and creating difficulties for those who use the affected area, including pedestrians and motorists.

The issue was reportedly reported to the GWCL, with officials visiting the area to assess the situation. Initial attempts were made to excavate part of the road to access the damaged pipe; however, the repair work was abandoned, leaving the excavated section as a hazard. The residents claim that the situation has been left unaddressed, leading to ongoing water wastage and potential danger to road users.

They are demanding immediate intervention from the GWCL and the government to repair the pipe and restore the damaged road section. The residents also urge authorities to prevent further wastage of treated water, especially during times when some communities are struggling with water supply issues.
