John Legend Announces Pharrell-Produced Album ‘Muse,’ Led by New Song ‘Daylight’
"Daylight," available to stream today, is the first listen from Legend's upcoming full-length release, out Oct. 23 via Republic.
John Legend and Pharrell Williams teamed up for a new album titled "Muse," released on October 23 by Republic Records. The collaboration at Pharrell's studio, located within Louis Vuitton's headquarters, marked a shift from Legend's usual piano-driven ballads to a more diverse style, drawing inspiration from artists like Nina Simone, Nat King Cole, and Marvin Gaye.
The first single, "Daylight," previewed during CBS' American Tailgate, showcased the blend of both artists' unique styles. "Daylight" was featured in Louis Vuitton's Fall-Winter 2026 Men's show. Pharrell, who also served as the album's co-writer and featured artist on six tracks, had previously worked with Legend on Clipse's 2025 album "Let God Sort 'Em Out."
The album's title, "Muse," is inspired by the nine Muses in ancient Greek mythology and represents the romantic relationship between a man and his muse, set against the backdrop of Paris.
