Jobless rate hits 4-year high in July
The country’s unemployment rate in July rose to its highest level in over four years as more Filipinos joined the workforce, but not enough jobs were available in the market. Preliminary results of the Philippine Statistics Authority’s Labor Force Survey showed that the unemployment rate rose to six percent in July from the previous month’s 4.9 percent and 5.3 percent in the same month last year.
