Islamabad Police Gets New BYD Electric Cars

Islamabad Police received 50 new BYD electric vehicles during a ceremony led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, as part of the "Capital Patrols Electric Vehicles" and "Go Green" initiative. This addition is part of a larger effort by Islamabad Capital Police and Islamabad Traffic Police to integrate green, sustainable policing into their operations by utilizing electric vehicles from Chinese manufacturer BYD.

The rollout of these electric vehicles began with an initial batch introduced to Islamabad, aiming to reduce fuel expenses and lessen the force's carbon footprint. The recent arrival of the 50 BYD vehicles signifies an expansion of the green fleet, with the vehicles designated for Capital Patrol Unit duties and traffic management across the city.

Officials highlight that this transition to electric vehicles will also help preserve foreign exchange reserves by decreasing reliance on traditional fuel sources.
