Igboho orders operatives to kill armed bandits, kidnappers in Southwest

Sunday Igboho, the founder of the Iru Ekun Security Network, has ordered his members to kill armed bandits and kidnappers they encounter in Southwest Nigeria. The Yoruba Nation activist made the directive during the inauguration of the network's Ondo State chapter in Akure. Igboho emphasized that the order applies to suspects regardless of their ethnic background, warning that Yoruba people who collaborate with criminal groups will also face punishment.

He directed operatives to kill any gunmen they find in the bush and any Yoruba collaborators involved in kidnapping or banditry. Igboho cautioned his members against harming innocent Hausa and Igbo residents, clarifying that the security network's mission focused on eliminating suspected criminals, not targeting any ethnic group.

He urged his operatives to report suspected bandits and kidnappers to the police and other security agencies. In recent months, the Iru Ekun Security Network has stepped up its operations across Southwest Nigeria to combat kidnapping, banditry, and other criminal activities. In August, over 15,000 volunteers joined the Ogun State chapter of the network during its inauguration, with Igboho stating that the organization aims to assist government security agencies in tackling criminal elements in the region.
