Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia wound 73 people, officials say

A series of attacks by the Iranian-backed Houthi rebels on Saudi Arabia early Tuesday resulted in 73 people being injured, according to Saudi authorities. The Houthis targeted "civilian and economic facilities" in the Saudi cities of Abha's Jazan, Najran and Khamis Mushait, according to Maj. Gen. Turki al-Malki, a spokesman for the Saudi-led coalition fighting in Yemen.

The coalition vowed to take "all necessary operational measures to deter the terrorist Houthi militia with utmost resolve." The Houthi attacks occurred following accusations by the rebels that Saudi Arabia had attacked a prison in Yemen's northern Jawf province. The conflict between the Houthis and Saudi-backed government forces in Yemen has been ongoing and has recently escalated, breaking a four-year truce in the civil war there.
