Houthi attacks disrupt Saudi energy facilities, wound 73, authorities say

On Tuesday, attacks by Yemen's Houthi rebels disrupted energy facilities in Saudi Arabia, resulting in 73 people being injured, including women and children. The Saudi foreign ministry condemned the "terrorist Houthi militia's targeting of civilian and economic" sites in southern cities of Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan, and Najran.

Fires erupted at the sites, and emergency teams worked to contain the blazes and assess damage. The Saudi energy ministry stated that authorities were handling the repercussions of the attacks and would take measures to ensure the safety of facilities and workers. Riyadh pledged to defend its sovereignty and called for an immediate halt to Houthi attacks on shipping.

The conflict intensified as tensions mounted between the United States and Iran, leading to a rise in oil prices. The Houthi military spokesperson announced a broad operation deep into Saudi territory, while the Saudi-led coalition vowed to respond firmly to the latest escalation.
