HMC highlights early diagnosis and brain health during Alzheimer’s Month

Doha, Qatar - The Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) is hosting an awareness event on September 10 from 8am to 1pm at Al Rumailah Hospital to commemorate World Alzheimer's Month. The event aims to raise awareness about Alzheimer's disease and promote brain health through direct interaction with a multidisciplinary medical team. This year's theme emphasizes the importance of early diagnosis in managing dementia.

HMC's Memory Clinics offer assessment, diagnosis, and care services for individuals experiencing memory changes and dementia. The event will feature information stands on dementia, brain health, early diagnosis, and potential risk factors. Deemed vital by HMC's Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Professor Hanadi Al Hamad, early diagnosis enables patients and families to receive timely assessment, care, and support.

Maintaining brain health through exercise, a balanced diet, managing blood pressure, diabetes, and cholesterol, and avoiding smoking can help reduce modifiable risk factors and delay the onset of dementia.
