Godzilla Minus Zero Trailer Confirms King Ghidorah

In the initial trailer for Godzilla Minus Zero, it has been confirmed that the sequel will include King Ghidorah as the new adversary for the heroic kaiju. The one-minute-and-a-half promotional clip begins with the destruction of familiar characters such as Kôichi Shikishima from Ryunosuke Kamiki and Noriko Ôishi from Minami Hamabe, believing Godzilla to return once more.

However, an ominous screech reminiscent of King Ghidorah's iconic cry permeates the air. One character in the trailer can be heard reassuringly stating, "Don't worry, this isn't Godzilla we're talking about." The film's official description reads, "War reduced Japan to zero, and Godzilla plunged it into minus." Two years have passed since this event, during which the country has faced immense struggles to recover and reclaim daily life.

A new threat emerges, tearing apart hope in an instant, with a clear statement: "There is no third time. Everything ends here."

Speculation has long swirled around the introduction of a second kaiju for Godzilla to challenge in the sequel. However, the trailer does not reveal the identity of this creature, and the focus remains solely on King Ghidorah. While fans may have jokingly speculated about Anguirus in the form of "Gravity Anguirus," the trailer does not confirm this theory.

Nonetheless, Ghidorah's title, "Monster Zero," aligns with the film's name. Although the mighty three-headed, lightning-breathing monster does not make a full appearance in the trailer, there is a distinct sound of its roar and a glimpse of a yellow scale, as well as Godzilla falling from the sky, hinting at an epic kaiju battle. Godzilla Minus Zero is set to release in theaters on November 6, 2026.
