Ganeshotsav 2026: Navi Mumbai Police Urge Citizens, Mandals To Keep City DJ-Free, Follow Noise Norms

Navi Mumbai police have called on residents and Ganesh mandals to refrain from using DJs during this year's Ganesh festival and to strictly observe noise pollution regulations. Police Commissioner Milind Bharambe implored citizens and mandals to ensure the festival remains peaceful and does not disrupt others. "Ganesh festival is a celebration for everyone, and we urge everyone to cooperate and follow the prescribed noise pollution norms," Bharambe stated.

Authorities warn against noise violations, as they anticipate taking action against those breaching the regulations and causing inconvenience to the public. BJP MLA Manda Mhatre met with Bharambe to discuss various concerns, including the sale of narcotics, rising crime rates, noise pollution, police personnel's working conditions, safety for women and students, and traffic congestion.

Mhatre demanded a strong crackdown on drug trafficking and requested a special drive during the festival. The Commissioner acknowledged these concerns and pledged to address safety issues in collaboration with the administration. Mhatre emphasized the collective responsibility to make Navi Mumbai safe, drug-free, and free from crime.

Ankust Vaiti, a resident of Turbhe who has hosted the Raja Ganapati pandal annually, welcomed the move. He stated, "We welcome the move. We have never used DJ and till date have only used dhol and lejhim during the festival. We all need to work together to safeguard not just the noise pollution but also the tradition and culture of the festival."
