From sunscreen to dairy, these are the U.S. goods hit by Canada’s retaliatory tariffs

On Tuesday, Canada announced retaliatory tariff measures in response to the ongoing trade war with the United States. The new tariffs target various goods that were previously affected by the Trump administration's tariffs.

Canada imposed a 50% tariff on a variety of American dairy products, including milk, cream, whey, several milk and whey protein products, fresh cheese, curd, and numerous types of cheese such as Camembert, brie, blue cheese, cheddar, mozzarella, Swiss, Gruyère, Havarti, and Parmesan. Additionally, tariffs apply to toilet paper, facial tissue, napkins, paper, paperboard, envelopes, corrugated boxes, and wooden furniture.

Steel and aluminum products, such as steel rods, bars, sheets, prefabricated items like bridges and door frames, aluminum wires, bars, rods, and foil, are also subject to a 50% tariff. Furthermore, a 50% tariff has been applied to various types of plastics, including plastic wall and ceiling coverings, bags, packaging, tableware, and kitchenware, as well as air conditioners.
