From Homemaker to Business Owner: UP Scheme Empowers Amethi Woman Entrepreneur

Lucknow and Amethi, September 8: Uttar Pradesh's Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is spearheading a series of self-employment initiatives to foster economic independence among the youth and women. Chief Minister Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan (Yuva Scheme) is one such scheme, offering financial aid to women to start their own businesses.

Archana Tripathi, a resident of Ward No. 08 in the Musafirkhana Nagar Panchayat of Amethi district, exemplifies this transformation from homemaker to entrepreneur. Archana, who once stayed at home, commenced her 'Archana Beauty Parlor' with the financial support provided by the Yuva Scheme. She discovered the scheme through her bank when she was contemplating the start of her own business but was deterred by the lack of financial resources.

Consequently, she applied for the scheme and was granted a loan of Rs 2.12 lakh in January 2025, which she utilized to launch her beauty parlor. The scheme has bolstered Archana's confidence, turning her aspirations into a thriving business. Her beauty parlor has gained recognition in the area, generating a monthly income of Rs 30,000 to Rs 40,000.

With six members in her family, Archana's financial status has significantly improved since the launch of her business. She now contributes substantially to the family's responsibilities, leading a self-reliant lifestyle. Archana aspires to broaden her business in the future to provide more people with superior services. She believes that with the right opportunities, guidance, and financial support, women can also emerge as successful entrepreneurs.

She motivates other women to embrace self-employment and become economically self-reliant. Archana Tripathi's success underscores the impact of the Yuva Scheme in empowering women economically within a self-reliant Uttar Pradesh. Archana's journey is also motivating other women in the area.
