From adoption to creation: How HP Garage 2.0 supports Saudi Arabia's next economic chapter

Fadle Saad, Managing Director of HP MENA Regional Headquarters, emphasized this shift, stating that while progress is evident in the startup ecosystem, digital government services, and AI adoption, the real opportunity lies in creating solutions and businesses within Saudi Arabia.

AI has become an integral part of daily work for many Knowledge Workers in Saudi Arabia, with 36% of employees using AI tools provided by their employers daily, compared to 46% of business leaders and 50% of IT decision makers. However, the real potential of AI lies in its ability to help people analyze information faster, reduce repetitive tasks, and make better decisions, freeing up more time for creativity and judgment.

Saad highlighted that while adopting new tools is crucial, the true value lies in what can be built using these technologies. He stressed that fostering an innovation economy requires more than just technology; it necessitates the skills, confidence, and practical challenges for people to utilize these tools effectively. HP aims to provide this environment through HP Garage 2.0, a new incubator launched at LEAP 2026.

This incubator is designed to help startups transform ideas into impactful solutions that align with Vision 2030. It brings together startups, educators, industry experts, and HP's technological resources in a collaborative setting focused on learning and creative problem-solving. Saad emphasized the importance of this ecosystem in connecting investments and initiatives across the Kingdom, enabling Saudi innovators to turn bold ideas into real-world impact.

HP's commitment to Saudi Arabia's technology ecosystem is multifaceted, encompassing AI R&D, manufacturing, and education programs like the HP AI Academy. These initiatives address different stages of innovation, from building skills to applying expertise and manufacturing locally. However, the key to sustained progress lies in collaboration between government, industry, education, entrepreneurs, and technology companies.

Saad reiterated that while technology adoption is a crucial step, the ultimate goal is to build solutions with it.
