CIMC Enric, a Chinese producer, recently completed the first bio-methanol tanker-to-tanker (STS) bunkering in Guangzhou. Sinobunker's Daqing 268 delivered approximately 1,000 metric tons of pure bio-methanol to the Green Future, a methanol dual-fuel bulk carrier operated by NYK subsidiary NYK Bulk & Projects Carriers. The bio-methanol was generated at CIMC Enric's Zhanjiang facility, which has a production capacity of 50,000 metric tons per year.

This marked the first STS methanol bunkering operation at Guangzhou Port, showcasing the port's green methanol supply capabilities. Lu Shengwei Raymond, senior business development manager at CIMC Green Energy, stated that this successful execution of green methanol bunkering, following previous operations in Shenzhen and Hong Kong, signifies that Guangdong Province's locally produced bio-methanol has established a closed-loop network across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
