Environment Ministry prepares waste roadmap, updates producer rules

Doha, Qatar - The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change in Qatar reported a strong performance in the second quarter of 2026, according to an internal assessment. The institution showcased notable achievements across various areas.

During the period, the ministry conducted 1,666 inspections and field visits, alongside 6,444 laboratory analyses and 6,013 laboratory sample assessments, demonstrating an expanded scope of environmental oversight. The environmental monitoring system maintained high operational readiness, ensuring accurate data collection and prompt responses to emerging environmental issues.

Customer service saw a nearly 99% response rate to calls, with an average response time of just 1.4 hours for digital inquiries, significantly faster than the target of 12 hours. All reports and complaints were closed in accordance with procedures and timelines, reflecting the ministry's dedication to service quality.

The digital transformation initiative remained a pivotal factor, with the ministry's electronic systems maintaining a 99.9% availability rate. The Director of Information Systems attributed the progress to ongoing development of electronic systems and technological solutions to enhance the customer experience and streamline internal operations.

Leadership, chaired by Minister H.E. Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie, reviewed performance indicators, strategic projects, and development initiatives. An impressive 85% of projects were progressing in line with or ahead of schedule, showcasing the ministry's effective management of strategic objectives.
