Emile Doe Dogbe Gakpetor Memorial Foundation awards scholarships to 6 needy students

The Emile Doe Dogbe Gakpetor Memorial Foundation has recently granted scholarships to six academically gifted but financially disadvantaged students to aid their education at the Senior High School (SHS) level. These recipients were chosen through the Miafe Fiawo Scholarship Programme, a project designed to promote education and aid brilliant students from underprivileged backgrounds.

Launched earlier this year, the programme received applications from eligible students who underwent a thorough screening and selection process. The six beneficiaries, Alisa Agbeveade, David Zungbey Jnr, Elorm Emmanuel, Esilorm Brown, Vidzah Xorse, and Rafaela Djopo, were honored during a presentation ceremony in Accra on Saturday.

Rev. Dr Hilliard Dela Dogbe, who chairs the Foundation's Board of Trustees, revealed that the six students were chosen based on their academic achievements, personal challenges, and potential for success. Initially, the Foundation aimed to select five students, but the exceptional quality of the applications and the candidates' circumstances led to the selection of six.

Rev. Dr Dogbe emphasized that the scholarship serves as a partnership between the recipients, their families, and the Foundation, stressing that the students must also strive to excel academically and justify the investment in them. The scholarship package includes a certificate of recognition, GH¢5,000 in financial support, and additional educational assistance.

The Foundation will continue to monitor the academic progress of the beneficiaries and maintain regular contact throughout their education journey. The recipients, as well as their parents, expressed gratitude to the Board of Trustees for the scholarships and promised to maintain good academic performance. The Foundation, a non-profit organization, focuses on educational scholarships, youth empowerment, livelihood support, and the promotion of religious tolerance.
