Delta flyovers a misplaced priority as over 1,000 defect to NDC

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Delta State has criticized Governor Sheriff Oborevwori's focus on flyovers, claiming the funds could have been better spent on jobs, security, electricity, agriculture, and education. At a recent gathering, more than 1,000 members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) defected to the NDC in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area.

Former APC leaders and members of the Delta Coalition For Equity (DCF), a group pushing for change, expressed their dissatisfaction with the party's current administration. The NDC's state chairman, Dr Oyidobo Richmond, welcomed the defectors and urged them to work in their respective wards. Richmond emphasized that the NDC is inclusive and offers equal opportunities.

Deacon Yovwaye Chris, the NDC's gubernatorial candidate, welcomed the defections and urged the new members to approach the party with humility. He attributed the mass defections to God's intervention, stating that the trend of defections is significant across the country. The NDC's rise in Delta State appears to be a significant political development, with many praising the party's strong leadership and clean record.
