Defense chiefs of S. Korea, Czech Republic discuss expanding defense cooperation

South Korean Defense Minister Ahn Gyu-back held talks on Tuesday with his Czech counterpart, Jaromir Zuna, to explore avenues for bolstering defense and arms cooperation, as per Seoul's defense ministry. The meeting occurred during the Seoul Defense Dialogue, with Zuna participating in a plenary session. Zuna commended the existing bilateral collaboration between Seoul and Prague across various domains, including nuclear energy, and voiced optimism about intensifying defense and security sector exchanges.

In return, Ahn promised to bolster defense sector cooperation and enhance complementary relations, leveraging each nation's unique strengths. The South Korean defense chief also met with Papua New Guinea's Defense Minister Elias Kapavore to discuss expanding defense cooperation. Earlier, Ahn conversed with Ugandan Defense Minister Kiryowa Kiwanuka to review defense collaboration progress, including military training and taekwondo exchanges, and explore ways to strengthen their partnership.
