Chinese memory makers have reportedly stocked up on enough western DUV machines for the next three years of expansion

Recent reports indicate that Chinese memory manufacturers, CXMT and YMTC, have managed to secure enough Western deep ultraviolet (DUV) machines from ASML to support their plans for expansion over the next three years. This comes despite China's efforts to promote domestic production and reduce reliance on foreign technology. While EUV machines are considered more advanced, DUV machines are still widely used in chip production, including by Western chipmakers.

Rumors have circulated about China potentially acquiring an EUV machine, though ASML denies this. Regardless, the availability of DUV machines from ASML will undoubtedly aid China in catching up to the West in terms of chip production capabilities.
