Can’t attend TIFF? These 6 festival films are coming soon to theatres or streaming

The Toronto International Film Festival may not be accessible to everyone, but several noteworthy movies will soon be available to view at theatres or on streaming platforms. "Run Terry Run," directed by Sean Menard, unveils never-before-seen footage of Terry Fox's story, chronicling the amputee athlete's journey to run across Canada.

"Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother," starring Mahershala Ali, is a Texas-based thriller that centers around a devout Muslim family man who is also a contract killer, as he grapples with his career and responsibilities to his family. Ali's character contemplates giving up his violent profession after losing his wife, but his employer has different plans.

"Always Lalisa," set to release in theatres and IMAX on October 12, follows K-pop superstar Lisa from Blackpink as she navigates the challenges of launching a solo career, pursuing acting, and balancing her personal life. "The Only Living Pickpocket in New York," featuring John Turturro, Steve Buscemi, and Tatiana Maslany, is another crime drama opening in October. The film tells the story of an aging pickpocket with an ailing wife who finds his world turned upside down when he targets a local crime family's scion.

"Everest: The Other Side," a sequel to the Oscar-winning "Free Solo," is an upcoming climbing documentary set to release in October. Filmmakers Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin capture the dangerous, high-stakes journey of climbers Jim Morrison and Hilaree Nelson as they attempt to summit Mount Everest via the Chinese North Face.

Lastly, "Possible Love," directed by Lee Chang-dong, the South Korean filmmaker behind "Burning," is coming to Netflix on November 6. The film explores the intertwining lives of two married couples, one struggling with unemployment and the other an affluent couple with a documentarian spouse, as they navigate tensions and questions of who gets to tell whose story.
