Anwar congratulates Tunku Mahkota Ismail after Royal Johor triumphs, Regent named MVP of Johor Super Crown Polo tournament

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 8 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has praised Tunku Mahkota Ismail, Regent of Johor, for being named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the Johor Super Crown Polo Tournament (JSCPT) 2026. Anwar commended Ismail's exceptional performance, leadership, and determination, stating that his achievements are a source of pride for both the people of Johor and the nation as a whole.

The MVP award was bestowed upon Ismail for his outstanding performance throughout the tournament, which culminated in Royal Johor's victory over Temasek with a score of 10-7 in the final. Ismail contributed significantly to the win, scoring six goals out of the team's total of 10. The 22-goal handicap polo tournament, which took place from September 1 to 6, marked the highest handicap polo competition ever organized in Malaysia.

The event was driven by a shared vision between Ismail and Polito Pieres, with the goal of establishing Johor as a prominent destination on the international polo circuit.
