Amit Shah begins visit to areas along the international border in Gujarat

Union Home Minister Amit Shah commenced his visit to regions bordering the international border in Gujarat's Kutch on Friday, May 29, 2026, according to officials. He will chair a security review meeting during his stay in the area. The Minister's tour, which spans the next three weeks, aims to interact with local officials and senior Border Security Force (BSF) officers, as per details shared by his office.

Shah began his day by inaugurating the border outpost G-7 and will later inspect a control room at "OP tower 1170". He is also set to visit the strategically significant Harami Nalla creek, one of the most challenging areas along the Indo-Pak border, where he plans to plant a sapling at a jetty point. In the afternoon, Shah is scheduled to chair a meeting to assess security arrangements and dialogue with BSF personnel.

Initially, Shah launched his border tour from Bikaner in Rajasthan, where he visited the BSF outpost at Sanchu, attended the 'Prahari Sammelan', virtually inaugurated barracks for women personnel, and reviewed border security with senior BSF officers. Shah is also expected to visit the nation's eastern borders with Bangladesh, beginning with a trip to Tripura on June 5, followed by a visit to West Bengal.
