2027: Why I’m dumping Peter Obi for Tinubu – Ortom

Former Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom has revealed his reasons for abandoning his support for Peter Obi and endorsing President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections. In an interview on Arise Television's 'Morning Show', Ortom confirmed his political decision to back Tinubu. He revealed that he made this declaration public when Nyesom Wike, a former G5 colleague of Ortom, was appointed Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.

Ortom expressed no regret over his choice to back Tinubu for the 2027 presidential election. It is worth noting that Ortom had previously supported Peter Obi in the 2023 presidential election, but altered his stance after Tinubu became President.
