2027: Ogogo was lined up as Ogun tourism, culture special adviser — Yayi

Ogun State APC candidate for governor, Senator Solomon Adeola, known as Yayi, has revealed that the late actor, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, would have been his Special Adviser on Tourism and Culture if he had won the 2027 election. During a condolence visit to Ogogo's family, Yayi described the actor as an elder brother and praised his contributions to acting, culture, and Yoruba heritage preservation.

Yayi had planned to make Ogogo a cabinet member due to his experience and knowledge of the state's cultural heritage. Ogogo, whose real name was Taiwo Hassan, passed away on August 23, 2026, aged 66, after battling stage-four cancer. Yayi commended Ogogo's talent, humility, and commitment to his craft while expressing condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, and the people of Ilaro.
