Zungu vows action on unpaid player bonuses if elected SAFA president

In a race for the SAFA presidency, Sandile Zungu has vowed to take action against those responsible for unpaid player bonuses if he secures the position on Saturday. Zungu is challenging incumbent Danny Jordaan, who is running for a fourth term. The AmaZulu chairman has also commented on the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) issue, noting that R20 million has been set aside for its acquisition by Treasury last year.

Minister of Sport Gayton McKenzie has expressed frustration with the process, blaming SAFA officials for the delay. Zungu has promised to hold those responsible accountable if he is elected and the matter is not resolved by Thursday. He also emphasized his commitment to improving the standard of refereeing through the implementation of VAR, which he believes is crucial for the growth of the sport.

Zungu highlighted his focus on winning World Cups for both Bafana Bafana and Banyana Banyana, rather than just qualifying for major international tournaments. He added that he has laid the groundwork for his campaign and is confident of victory in the upcoming election.
