Underdog Fantasy halts Drafts entries across seven states amid licensing conflict

Underdog Fantasy has paused new Drafts entries in seven U.S. states following a licensing dispute, according to founder Jeremy Levine. The cutoff will begin immediately after Wednesday's kickoff in Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Ohio. Existing entries will continue as usual, but new entries will not be accepted in these states.

Levine cited a disagreement with state regulators, who believe the company's CFTC-regulated offerings prevent it from offering fantasy sports in those jurisdictions. Underdog had previously changed its DFS pick’em offering to a peer-to-peer format in response to California's regulatory pressure, following a similar legal opinion issued by the California Attorney General.
