Twins bring back Joe Ryan from the injured list to start the series opener against the Tigers

The Minnesota Twins have brought back injured right-hander Joe Ryan to start Monday's game against the Detroit Tigers, marking the beginning of a three-game series. Ryan had been sidelined for a month due to a strained left glute muscle before making a brief rehab appearance for Triple-A St. Paul. Before his injury, Ryan had started 23 games for the Twins, posting a 6-8 record with a 3.65 ERA and 138 strikeouts in 125 2/3 innings.

To accommodate Ryan's return, right-handed reliever Garrett Acton has been sent to Triple-A St. Paul. The Twins are currently in third place in the AL Central, seven games behind first-place Chicago and three and a half games behind Cleveland in their pursuit of the final wild-card spot.
