Tinubu will hand over power to APC successor in 2031 – Minister

Mariya Mahmud, Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory, has announced that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will retain control over Nigeria's governance until 2031. Addressing participants at the launch of the City Boy Movement (CBM) in Kano, Mahmud emphasized that there is "no vacancy in the Villa till 2031." She unveiled the movement as a platform to mobilize youths and women across rural areas to guarantee Tinubu's re-election and maintain APC's stronghold.

Mahmud stressed that Nigeria's youth, constituting approximately 60 to 70 percent of the population, play a vital role in achieving success. She highlighted the movement's role in promoting Tinubu's policies and commended CBM for integrating women into the party's strategy, stressing the importance of their contribution to the party's victory.

CM Director-General, Francis Oluwatosin Shoga, unveiled ambitious plans to increase the movement's membership to 10 million nationwide. He urged members to venture into communities, markets, schools, and universities to disseminate the message of Tinubu's "renewed Hope Agenda," asserting that such expansion is essential for the movement's future.

Shoga called for the establishment of robust leadership structures and improved grassroots mobilization across all local government areas, aiming to prepare the younger generation to assume leadership roles.

Nasir Bala Ja’oji, CBM Coordinator in Kano state and APC House of Representatives candidate for Tarauni constituency, reported that the state chapter had already registered 189,111 members, positioning it as the leading state in CBM's membership drive. Ja’oji called for stronger leadership and enhanced grassroots mobilization across all local government areas, emphasizing the movement's objective to build a disciplined and united structure capable of delivering the movement's objectives and contributing significantly to Nigeria's political development.
