Thousands march in Zamfara for Tinubu, Lawal’s re-election

Thousands of supporters of former Zamfara State Governor Abdul’aziz Yari marched through Gusau, the state capital, on Tuesday in solidarity with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Dauda Lawal’s re-election bids. The supporters, representing Yari political organizations, marched several kilometers through the city before gathering at the Zamfara State Government House.

Led by two former APC chairmen and a former local government chairman, the solidarity walk aimed to showcase the support of Zamfara people for Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC). At the Government House, former APC state chairman Tukur Danfulani Mai Katako declared that the rally had drawn thousands of witnesses and sent a strong message about Zamfara’s backing for Tinubu and the APC.

Another former chairman, Aliyu M.C., expressed gratitude to Tinubu for appointing Yari as Director-General of the Presidential Campaign Council. Lawal M. Liman, a former APC state chairman and leader of the A.A. Yari political organizations, presented a letter to the state APC chairman, Kabiru Moyi Birnin Magaji, praising Yari’s integrity, honesty, dedication, and courage, and vowing the people of Zamfara’s unwavering support for him.

Upon receiving the letter, Magaji assured the supporters that he would relay their message to Governor Lawal, who would then forward it to Tinubu. Governor Lawal, represented by his deputy, Mani Mummuni, thanked the march organizers, noting the turnout as evidence of the people’s support for Tinubu and the president’s accomplishments.

The march commenced at the Gusau Trade Fair Complex, situated approximately six to seven kilometers from the Government House, where the supporters delivered the letter.
