‘The enemy is working overtime,’ says Layla Kolbe following Cheslin’s hospitalisation

In a recent Instagram post, Cheslin Kolbe's wife Layla expressed her gratitude and faith following her husband's hospitalization. Kolbe was admitted to the hospital on September 5 after sustaining a broken jaw during South Africa's 29-24 win over the All Blacks at FNB Stadium. The injury occurred early in the match when All Blacks loose forward Luke Jacobson collided with him during a tackle. Kolbe was immediately taken for a Head Injury Assessment (HIA) and did not return to the game.

Layla shared an image of her husband in the hospital, stating, "Here we are again. I don’t want to say too much, but the enemy is definitely working overtime, and we rebuke and cancel it in Jesus' name." She emphasized her faith, asserting that "what the enemy meant for harm God can turn for good" and encouraging the family to trust in their faith rather than fear.

Despite the family's challenges, Layla expressed pride in her daughter Kylah for completing her dance season. She wrote, "And in the middle of it all, I couldn’t be prouder of Kylah and her girls for pushing through such a long day and claiming the win to end off her dance season for the year." She concluded her message by congratulating the Springboks on their victory, praising the team for their resilience: "And to the Bokke—they always seem to fight even harder when they’re thrown into the deep end. What a team. What a fight."
