The 49ers are refreshed in Australia and preparing for the opener vs. the Rams

The San Francisco 49ers have arrived in Australia and are preparing for their season opener against the Los Angeles Rams on Friday, according to Associated Press reports. The players have mostly recovered from their long flight and are feeling refreshed after a day to explore Melbourne. The Rams, however, are still in California and won't arrive until Thursday.

Coach Kyle Shanahan noted that the players had a day off to explore the city and that many enjoyed the Australian Football League game at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Christian McCaffrey, the 49ers' star running back, also enjoyed his time here and is excited about the trip. Shanahan had initially had reservations about the decision to open the season in Australia, but now believes the team will have a good showing.

The 49ers held their first full practice of the week on Monday, with Shanahan opting not to give an injury update because the Rams don't have to do theirs until Monday in Australia. Tight end George Kittle and defensive end Nick Bosa are among the players who are still dealing with injuries and will have to wait for updates.
