Taiwan stocks higher at close of trade; Taiwan Weighted up 1.52%

Taiwan stocks exhibited a positive trend on Monday's closing trade, buoyed by sector gains, particularly in Glass, Semiconductor and Electronics. The Taiwan Weighted index reached a fresh 1-month high, surging by 1.52%. Topoint Technology Co Ltd (TW:8021) led the charge with a 10.00% increase, closing at 462.00, while United Microelectronics Corporation (TW:2303) and Holy Stone Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:3026) also gained 10.00% each, ending the day at 143.00 and 771.00 respectively.

Conversely, LARGAN Precision Co Ltd (TW:3008) experienced the steepest decline, falling by 10.00% or 740.00 points to close at 6,660.00. PELL BIO MED TECHNOLOGY CO LTD (TW:6949) and KS Terminals Inc (TW:3003) both retreated by 9.93% and 9.92% respectively, settling at 67.10 and 59.00. Advancing stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 594 to 418, with 113 remaining unchanged.

PELL BIO MED TECHNOLOGY CO LTD (TW:6949) hit its all-time low, falling by 9.93% or 7.40 points to 67.10. Crude oil for October delivery saw a 1.54% increase, reaching $92.89 per barrel, while Brent oil for November delivery climbed by 1.59% to $97.81. December Gold Futures contract slipped by 0.81%, settling at $4,440.14 per troy ounce.

The USD/TWD exchange rate decreased by 0.12% to 31.60, while TWD/CNY remained unchanged at 0.21. The US Dollar Index Futures also dropped by 0.06% to 99.09.
