Sylvester Tetteh explains why he left Ningo Prampram for Ngleshi Amanfro

Political newcomer Sylvester Tetteh has defended his decision to abandon the Ningo Prampram constituency in favor of contesting the Bortianor-Ngleshie Amanfro parliamentary seat. Mr. Tetteh, who previously ran for the position in 2012 and 2016, switched parties and won the NPP primary in 2020, securing his current parliamentary seat.

On Adom TV's Badwam, he stated that his electoral record in Ningo Prampram, particularly the 17,122 votes he garnered for the NPP in 2012, remains unparalleled for a party candidate in the constituency. Mr. Tetteh dismissed claims that he lacked a political track record in the area, asserting that he served as constituency secretary prior to his 2020 candidacy.

He explained his shift in constituencies as a strategic maneuver, comparing it to a football coach's decision to alter a player's position to achieve the desired outcome. Tetteh also noted that others, like former Salaga MP Boniface Sadick, have made similar moves for similar reasons. He emphasized that his move to Ningo Prampram was justified by the 2020 election results, where the NPP and the NDC each secured 137 seats in Parliament. "It was a strategic decision for the party, and it paid off," he declared.
