The South Park creators celebrated their Emmy win with a comedic twist, mocking Donald Trump. Following their victory for outstanding animated program, the show's official X account tweeted, "Congratulations to Trey Parker, Matt Stone and the entire South Park team on their Emmy win." The image accompanying the tweet showed a cartoon version of Trump holding the Emmy, with his underwear visible.
The caption read, "You finally got your Emmy," poking fun at Trump's lack of previous Emmy wins. Trump had been nominated twice for Emmy awards for NBC's "The Apprentice" in 2004 and 2005, but lost to CBS's "The Amazing Race" in both years. The South Park team's fifth Emmy win since 2005 marked the first in over a decade for the show.
