SNAPSHOT | PKR wants cops to probe Hadi's US conspiracy claim; Felda subsidiary ex-boss nabbed

Three police reports were lodged on September 7, 2014, over a claim made by PAS president and Marang Member of Parliament Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang. According to Hadi, the United States had offered assistance in 2014 to topple the Malaysian government. The reports were lodged by three individuals at the Cheras Police Station in Kuala Lumpur.

V. Jonathan, the Bandar Tun Razak branch vice-chief of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR), Mazlina Osman, the PKR Bandar Tun Razak branch women’s chief, and Amarul Hisham Jalil, the Bandar Tun Razak Angkatan Muda Keadilan deputy chief, made the reports following Hadi's statement during his speech at the 70th PAS Annual Muktamar held at the Pusat Tarbiyah Islamiyah Kelantan on September 5.

Jonathan revealed that the allegations claimed several PAS leaders were invited to a meeting with the US Embassy during then-US President Barack Obama's visit to Malaysia in 2014. The meeting allegedly involved Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan, Datuk Seri Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar, Mustafa Ali, and the US Ambassador at the time. The three individuals who lodged the reports took the allegations seriously, stating that the reports were intended to investigate any claims related to attempts to overthrow or weaken the government through unconstitutional means.

Cheras police chief ACP Mohd Rosdi Daud confirmed receiving the reports around 5pm on the same day, adding that the reports would be referred to the Wangsa Maju District Police Headquarters.
