Sinayoko stars as unbeaten Paris FC down Marseille

Lassine Sinayoko netted a hat-trick as Paris FC secured a 3-2 victory over Marseille in their first Ligue 1 match of the season on Sunday. This result kept Paris FC in second place, trailing only Monaco, who have seven points from their opening three games. Paris coach Liam Rosenior expressed his focus on winning the next match, aiming to rebuild his career after a challenging period at Chelsea.

Paris FC, who had been unbeaten at the start of their season, will face Lyon in the next weekend's home game. Marseille, under their new coach Bruno Genesio, had suffered two consecutive losses after starting the season with a dominant win over Strasbourg. Sinayoko opened the scoring for Paris FC after just 25 seconds, as left-back Luca Koleosho provided a cross for him to head in.

Amine Gouiri equalized for Marseille in the eighth minute, capitalizing on a back pass mishit by Adama Camara. Sinayoko restored Paris's lead 11 minutes later with another headed goal. Marseille reduced the gap nine minutes into the second half, with Gouiri scoring again from a tight angle. In the 85th minute, Moses Simon's shot struck Paris FC's CJ Egan-Riley, leading to an 85th-minute penalty awarded via VAR.

Sinayoko converted the penalty, completing his hat-trick and ensuring Paris FC extended their impressive start to the season. Meanwhile, Strasbourg defeated Troyes 6-2 away, with English winger Sam Amo-Ameyaw scoring twice as a late substitute. Troyes had started their season well with a win and a draw, and Strasbourg's summer signings, including Diogo Sousa and Giovanni Reyna, also scored.

Strasbourg face league leaders Monaco in their next match. Rennes continued their unbeaten run with a 2-1 win over Angers, while Paris Saint-Germain lost 2-1 to Monaco and remain winless. Lille won 2-0 away at Toulouse, and Lens suffered a second straight defeat, losing 1-0 to Lorient.
