Saudi, German ministers discuss expanding economic partnership

Berlin - Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan convened with German Economic Affairs and Energy Minister Katherina Reiche in the German capital on Monday. During their discussions, the two ministers evaluated the current state of bilateral ties, with a particular focus on economic cooperation. They brainstormed strategies to broaden their partnerships and augment trade and investment, aligning with the goals set forth by Saudi Vision 2030.

This initiative seeks to fortify economic links, unveil fresh avenues for collaboration, and aid in attaining shared objectives. Both nations highlighted the significance of bolstering ties within the energy sector and fortifying associated alliances, encompassing energy security and sustainability, while bolstering the strength of supply chains.

They also underscored the necessity of measures to safeguard the security and safety of maritime routes and unhindered navigation for commercial ships. These actions, they contended, would aid in tempering the impacts of prevailing crises and bolstering the stability of energy markets and the global economy. The gathering was graced by Ambassador Abdulrahman Al-Ahmad, Director General of the General Administration for European Countries, and Asia Baakdah, Acting Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy in Berlin.
