Saudi, German FMs sign strategic dialogue MoU, discuss Strait of Hormuz

The Foreign Ministers of Saudi Arabia and Germany have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish a strategic dialogue, with the goal of enhancing consultation, coordination, and bilateral relations across various fields. The meeting took place in Berlin, where Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and German Federal Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul reviewed the long-standing relationship between the two nations and explored avenues for further development and strengthening of ties.

During the discussions, the ministers emphasized the importance of ensuring the security and safety of international waterways, particularly the Strait of Hormuz. They stressed the need for the Strait of Hormuz to return to normalcy, contributing to regional stability and the smooth flow of international trade. Both sides affirmed their commitment to peaceful and diplomatic solutions to regional and global crises.

In addition to discussing strategic dialogue, the ministers also addressed economic and trade relations between the two countries. They reviewed the current volume of bilateral trade and explored potential ways to boost it further, highlighting the depth of the Saudi-German relationship and the opportunities for increased cooperation and investment in various sectors.
