Russian region delays public sector pay raises after ‘unforeseen expenses’ on military recruitment bonuses
The government of the Republic of Sakha has postponed a planned pay increase for employees of budget-funded institutions by two months, pushing back the effective date from July 1 to September 1. Kirill Bychkov, the head of the region’s government, revealed the delay in response to an inquiry from Nyurguyana Zamorshchikova, a deputy in the republic’s State Assembly.
