Riverfront hotel to be constructed at Kamran’s Baradari

Lahore's historic Kamran Ki Baradari, situated along the River Ravi, is set to undergo a significant restoration and beautification project, according to the provincial housing department. The centuries-old Mughal monument will be revitalized as a cultural landmark, complete with enhanced visitor facilities, thanks to new directives from the housing department.

The Horticulture Agency's Managing Director, Ahmed Usman Javed, recently visited the Baradari and inspected the location alongside PHA Director Engineering, Samavia, and Director Horticulture, Amir Farooq. They presented a comprehensive plan for the restoration and upkeep, which includes the construction of a riverfront hotel, restaurant, picnic spots, landscaped gardens, and a dedicated access road. These enhancements aim to improve the overall visitor experience.

In addition to the construction of the hotel, the Punjab government has also approved the expansion of the restoration project, increasing the monument's area from five acres to 15 acres. The long-neglected structure is expected to regain its lost grandeur, with conservation efforts for heritage sites across Lahore being prioritized. Furthermore, boat rides to the site will be introduced, and a heritage museum will be established to showcase the Mughal history and cultural significance of the monument.
