Punjab Approves 7 Road Projects

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has approved seven road projects as part of the province's Public-Private Partnership program, according to a briefing. The decision was made during a meeting chaired by Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb. The meeting also approved bids for operations and management contracts, which will be held for seven years with shared profits between the bidders and the government.

Additionally, the meeting gave the green light for launching local vaccine production and reviewing plans for manufacturing foot-and-mouth disease vaccines under the PPP framework. To enhance transparency in the bid evaluation process, amendments to the current system were also approved. The meeting further ratified decisions from the fourth meeting of the Public-Private Partnerships Authority and reviewed information and communication reforms, social media initiatives, and the district plan.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz expressed confidence that private-sector participation would be a "game changer," emphasizing transparency and timely implementation as crucial factors for assessing project performance.
