Portugal stocks higher at close of trade; PSI up 0.32%

Portugal stocks rose at the close of trade on Monday, with gains in Utilities, Financials and Technology sectors driving the market higher. EDP Renovaveis was the top performer, climbing 2.13% to reach 13.42 at the close. Galp Energia Nom also had a strong finish, increasing 0.97% to 20.72, while EDP Energias de Portugal SA finished the day up 0.88% to 4.69.

On the other hand, Ibersol SGPS underperformed, falling 2.25% to trade at 9.99. CTT Correios de Portugal SA and Semapa also declined, dropping 1.54% and 1.20% respectively. In total, 17 stocks fell, compared to 7 that rose, with 6 ending unchanged. Brent oil for November delivery gained 1.42% to $97.65 per barrel, while crude oil for October delivery increased 1.77% to $93.10.

Meanwhile, the December Gold Futures contract slipped 0.36% to $4,460.35 an ounce. Currency markets remained relatively stable, with EUR/USD and EUR/GBP showing minimal movement, and the US Dollar Index Futures falling 0.28% to 98.87.
