Parvathy calls out superstars’ ‘silence’ on student protests: ‘They gain power from youth’

Malayalam actor Parvathy Thiruvothu expressed her frustration with the silence of superstars during recent student protests in New Delhi, which ultimately led to the resignation of a key education minister. While she and other celebrities faced online backlash for not supporting the movement, Parvathy criticized those who remained silent, arguing that they gain power from the youth who support their work.

She highlighted that the success of their films is often due to the enthusiasm and financial support of young audiences, who face numerous challenges due to a corrupt system. Parvathy contended that the youth, who often struggle to make ends meet or complete their education, are the ones who grant these celebrities their elevated status.

She emphasized that the current generation cannot continue to ignore political issues, as the situation is worsening and cannot be denied any longer. Parvathy also pointed out that the fear of losing their fan base due to unpopular stances prevents many celebrities from speaking out on these matters. She stressed that the silence of powerful individuals who benefit from the youth's efforts is unjust, as they have the privilege to remain silent while those in need are in dire need of their support.
