Orioles offer complimentary tickets, say Flowers not at fault for Bird Bath promotion

The Baltimore Orioles have stepped up to compensate fans who were disappointed by their promotional plans for Saturday's game. Promoting Ravens wide receiver Zay Flowers as a guest splasher for the Bird Bath section, the team changed course, leaving fans frustrated.

In a letter to affected fans, the Orioles maintained that they had informed Flowers about his role ahead of time, stating "Zay was at Oriole Park on Saturday to celebrate the joint jersey giveaway and threw out the first pitch, as promised." They asserted that any miscommunication was on their side alone. "Any suggestion that he let fans down is misplaced, and we regret that our failure to communicate clearly created that impression.

That mistake is ours alone. We should have told ticketholders directly when our plans changed, and we didn’t. We’re sorry," the team concluded.

Compensating the aggrieved fans, the team are offering complimentary tickets to the next home game, starting with their final homestand of the year.
