'One Season Is Perfect' — Nicolas Cage Reacts to Spider-Noir Prime Video Cancelation

Nicolas Cage has declared that a single season of Spider-Noir is "perfect" following Amazon's decision to cancel the Prime Video show. Cage, who plays Ben Reilly, a private investigator and the city's only super-powered vigilante in 1930s New York City, expressed satisfaction with the one-season format, stating that it allowed him to convey the intended message of the show.

Despite an impressive 8/10 rating from IGN, Spider-Noir experienced a decline in viewership after its launch and eventually dropped out of Prime Video's top 10 chart. The show's cancellation was attributed to both the declining viewership and the high production costs. Amazon's decision to end Spider-Noir after just one season was reportedly due to the high cost of production, while the show's creators had hoped for a longer run.

The spider-themed canceled shows does not end there, as another Spider-Man spin-off, Silk, was also canceled just days after Spider-Noir was given the green light. Despite the cancellation of Spider-Noir, the deal between Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures Television, which includes multiple Spider-Man projects, remains intact.

Upcoming productions include Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, set to release in theaters on June 18, 2027.
