Na Hong-jin's strange, epic-length sci-fi creature feature should give genre fans Hope

Korean sci-fi movie Hope keeps the audience waiting for around 45 minutes before unveiling the monstrous creature terrorizing a small town. Upon its appearance, the creature proves to be both tall and fast, instilling a sense of awe and mystery that few other creature features have managed. Director Na Hong-jin chooses to keep the creature's identity shrouded in mystery, which adds to the film's enigmatic charm. Even the subpar CG used to depict the monster seems to blend seamlessly with its otherworldly qualities.
