Mumbai: BEST Bus Driver Allegedly Assaulted By Car Driver Amid Traffic Jam Near Dadar's Tilak Bridge; Video Viral

On Sunday evening, September 6, a BEST bus driver was allegedly assaulted by a car driver near Dadar's Tilak Bridge in Mumbai, according to reports received by BEST authorities. A video of the incident has gone viral on social media, showing a group of men confronting the driver inside the crowded bus.

At around 7:30 pm, BEST bus number 8215 (MH-01-EM-9332) was traveling from Sewri Bus Station towards Dindoshi when the altercation took place. The video shows three men standing near the driver's seat, with one allegedly slapping the driver while another appears to threaten him. The bus was jammed in traffic on the busy Tilak Bridge road when the confrontation occurred, and several passengers were present but did not intervene during the assault.

The car driver, who was traveling behind the bus, allegedly became angry when the BEST driver did not yield right of way. He reportedly overtook the bus, stopped his vehicle in front of it near Tilak Bridge, and confronted the driver, leading to the assault. The conductor on the bus initially appeared unfazed but later spoke to the men and asked them to leave the bus.

The BEST driver reported the incident to Shivaji Park Police Station, and the driver has been asked to return to the station on Monday morning for further investigation. The police are currently probing the alleged assault, and further details are awaited.
